Costa Brava wild coast

The Costa Brava is northern Spain’s splendid “wild coast”. Its magnificent rugged coastline with beautiful anchoring bays, desolated beaches and high rocky cliffs stretch for over 250 kilometres from the French border town Port Bou to Blanes, north of Barcelona.

The Costa Brava is most spectacular around the Cap de Creus where the Pyrenees Mountains tumble into the Mediterranean Sea. In the former fishing villages of Colera, Llançà, Puerto de la Selva (El Port de la Selva), Port Lligat, Cadaques and Rosas (Roses) you can now buy charming fishermen's houses, luxurious villas and sea view apartments bordering the rocky coastline. These Costa Brava properties for sale are surrounded by the most spectacular cruising grounds of the Mediterranean Sea with many small bays and natural harbours where you can anchor your sailing yacht or motorboat. Platja de Garbet, Cala Taballera, Cala Bonita, Cala Tulip, Port Lligat, Bay of Cadaques, Cala Joncols and Cala Montjoi are the most renown and form part of the magnificent Cap de Creus Marine Reserve Park.

Moorings are available for sale or rent in the little yacht harbours north of Cap de Creus in the marinas of Port de Portbou, Port de Colera, Port de Llançà and Port Esportiu del Port de la Selva.

The Marina Port de Roses, a few nautical miles further south, is one of the largest marinas on the Costa Brava. Here we have moorings for sale for yachts up to 45 metres. Large mega yachts can dock alongside the fishermen’s pier on prior request.

ImmoNautic has beautiful waterfront properties for sale in Rosas. Here you can buy a sea view apartment bordering the marina or a splendid villa or house in the Rosas - Puig Rom residential area with magnificent views over the yacht harbour and the Mediterranean Sea and only a few steps away from your mooring and yacht in the Marina of Rosas.

Port Marina Roses

South of Rosas is the very exclusive residential Marina of Roses-Santa Margarita, build alongside a river. Here most villas, houses and apartments for sale have their own mooring where you can dock a large motorboat or sailing yacht up to 35 meters directly at the jetty of your luxurious waterfront property.

Unique in Europe is the residential Marina of Empuriabrava, often called the “Venice of Spain”, build on a network of navigable waterways open to the Mediterranean Sea. Over 25 km of navigable canals and some 15.000 holiday homes, with more than 5.000 houses and villas bordering the canals with private moorings, make from Ampuriabrava the largest residential marina in the world. In Ampuriabrava you can buy your own private marina. Most of the canal front villas, houses or apartments for sale in Empuriabrava have their own mooring, berth or jetty where you can dock your boat at the bottom of the garden of your holiday home.

From Empuriabrava to La Escala (L’Escala) stretches the Bay of Roses, a 15 km beautiful desolated sandy beach, which is a paradise for windsurfers and kiters. Here the river Fluvia and the renown Aiguamolls de l’Empordà Nature Reserve can be entered from the sea with a smaller boat or zodiac and is navigable till the typical Spanish village of San Pedro Pescador (Sant Pere Pescador) with its small yacht harbour where we occasionally have some houses or villas for sale.

The Marina of La Escala, also known as La Ciota, is also one of the larger marinas on the Costa Brava with 824 moorings for boats up to 25 meters. Some moorings and sea view apartments with a direct access to the yacht harbour are for sale around the Port Esportiu de L’Escala.

From L’Escala the Costa Brava continues in its wildest form to l’Estartit with high cliffs, astonishing caves and small coves and the splendid Cala Montgo where you can spend a relaxed day anchored in the magnificent bay.

Marina l'Escala

The Marina of l'Estartit is the ideal start for a boat or dive trip to the Medes Islands, the diver’s paradise of the Mediterranean Sea.

A beautiful sandy beach interrupted by the marshlands of the river Ter stretches from L'Estartit to Playa de Pals and Begur where Immo Costa Brava has the most luxurious villas and properties of the Costa Brava for sale. From here on where the Gavarres Massif meets the sea starts the real “wild” Costa Brava again with one of the most beautiful coastlines full of little bays and rocky cliffs with plenty of tranquil anchoring places in the many small Spanish cala’s.

Some beautiful waterfront apartments, houses and villas for sale can be found in the coastal villages of Aiguafreda, Fornells, Tamariu, Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc. Some of these properties for sale have their own boat garage or private jetty for a small boat.

The town of Palamós, further south, is a major fishing port and yacht harbour. Here the coast forms a bay between Palamós and Sant Antoni de Calonge, part of the town of Calonge. South lies the Castell-Platja d'Aro, including Playa de Aro, a trendy tourist resort along a sandy beach. Apartments with private moorings are for sale in the yacht harbour of Platja d´Aro.

Further south are S'Agaró and the town of Sant Feliu de Guixols with his large Marina.

The southernmost part of the Costa Brava goes from Tossa de Mar to Blanes with several resorts and small bays along the coast. Lloret de Mar, located south of Tossa de Mar, is the largest tourist resort on the Costa Brava, with a population of over 200,000 at its peak during the summer.
